Who we are
Portal Global is a trading name of Portal Consulting Services Limited, registered in the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. In this policy we refer to ourselves as “we”, “us” and “our”.
Our office is at Floor 05, Tamouh Tower, Al Reem Island, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. For anything in this policy, write to hello@portalglobal.io.
We are the controller of the personal information described here. That means we decide what is collected and why.
What information we collect
We collect only what you give us, and a small amount of technical information about your visit.
When you contact us. Our contact form asks for your name, your email address, your organisation (optional) and your message. If you email us or use one of the addresses on this site, we hold whatever you choose to put in that message.
When you visit. Our host records standard web server logs, including IP address, timestamp and browser user agent. We also use Vercel Web Analytics, which counts page views and records approximate country, referring site and device type. It does not set cookies, does not identify you and does not follow you to other websites.
We do not buy personal information, and we do not collect it from third parties.
How we use your information
We use it to reply to you, to understand which parts of this site are worth keeping, and to meet legal and regulatory obligations.
We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. We do not send marketing email unless you have asked us to.
We do not make decisions about you by automated means.
Our legal basis
We handle contact details on the basis of your consent, given when you send us a message, and our legitimate interest in responding to professional enquiries.
We handle server logs and analytics on the basis of our legitimate interest in running the site, keeping it secure, and knowing whether it works.
Where we hold personal information in the course of a client engagement, we usually do so because it is necessary to perform our contract with that client, or because the client has instructed us to as their processor.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers, each of which handles personal information only on our instructions:
- Vercel, for hosting and website analytics. The site runs on distributed infrastructure, so requests are served from the location closest to the visitor.
- Resend, which delivers contact form submissions to our inbox.
We will disclose information to a regulator, court or law enforcement body where we are legally required to. We share it with nobody else.
International transfers
Because the site runs on globally distributed infrastructure, your information may be handled outside the United Arab Emirates, including in the European Union and the United States.
Where information leaves the ADGM, we rely on our providers’ standard contractual clauses and equivalent safeguards, as permitted under the ADGM Data Protection Regulations 2021.
How long we keep it
We keep contact form submissions and correspondence for up to 24 months after we last hear from you, unless a specific engagement or a legal obligation requires longer.
Server logs are kept for a short operational period and then discarded. Analytics figures are aggregate counts and hold nothing that identifies you, so they are retained without a fixed end date.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- confirm whether we hold personal information about you
- give you a copy of it
- correct anything inaccurate
- delete it, subject to any legal obligation to keep it
- restrict or object to what we are doing with it
- provide it in a portable format, or send it to someone else
- stop relying on your consent, where consent is what we relied on
Exercising any of these costs nothing. Email hello@portalglobal.io with “Privacy request” in the subject line. We will respond within one month. If a request is complex we may need longer, and we will tell you within that first month if so.
Cookies
This website sets no cookies.
Our analytics provider is cookieless, and we use no advertising, profiling or cross-site tracking technology. That is why you are not asked to accept anything when you arrive: there is nothing to consent to.
If this changes, we will say so here, and we will ask for your consent before setting anything that is not strictly necessary.
Children
This site is aimed at organisations and professional audiences. It is not intended for children, and we do not knowingly collect information about them.
Changes to this policy
We review this policy when the site changes materially, and at least once a year. The date at the top of the page tells you when it was last revised. If a change matters to anyone who has contacted us, we will tell them directly.
Complaints
Please raise anything with us first, at hello@portalglobal.io. We would rather fix a problem than have you take it elsewhere.
You also have the right to complain to a regulator. For us that is the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner of the Abu Dhabi Global Market. If you are in Australia, or your information relates to our Australian operations, you may instead complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) under the Privacy Act 1988.
